Annual tree planting for all young people in our community
Every year over 3 weeks in November, we support 1000 young people aged 5-18, through their schools and colleges, to plant trees in their community.
In 2011, tree nursery beds were built in over 20 local schools; in 2012, the first 1000 trees were planted by the first 1000 children in what is now known as Harmony Woods and the annual tree planting day for local school children was born; in February 2022, the final trees were planted - 10000 in total
Since November 2022, with Harmony Woods no longer able to accommodate tree planting in such large numbers, a partnership with Test Valley Borough Council has allowed the children’s tree planting to continue at the new Bury Hill Meadows and Nature Reserve.

By volunteering or joining the monthly Explore the Wild events, led by this year’s intern Kanchi, you will meet like-minded people who enjoy nature, the arts and spending time outside (though this can depend on the weather!).

By planting trees and hedges, through the Disappearing Wildflowers project and traditional management techniques, many opportunities exist for us to provide homes for wildlife.
