We had the joy of welcoming our local cubs group to the woods on a sunny evening early this month. Accompanied by their leaders, ATU volunteer James Blyth talked to the children and taught them how to light a fire and safety measures around fire lighting.
The cubs enjoyed themselves, learnt some skills and will be back to the wood for more activates and classes this month!

A huge thank you to volunteers Wendy and Izzi, who recently delivered a collection of donated tents to the fantastic team at New Forest For Ukraine
These much-needed donations will help support people affected by the ongoing conflict, demonstrating the incredible difference that local communities can make when they come together for a common cause.

Great Big Green Week was celebrated in the Diamond Wood in style by Knights Enham Juniors.
The children learnt how to make zero waste books with Kanchi and got to go on a spotters walk around Harmony Woods, writing in their books as they went. Abbey led a sustainability tour of the site and taught about recyclable materials and land management, using tree spiral guards as an example. After a quick snack, all participants - children, teachers, volunteers, leaders - discussed the notion of sustainability and together, in small groups, made a mind map of how to make their schools, homes and lives more sustainable.

On Sunday 21st June, Andover Trees United welcomed members to the Diamond Wood for our very first Members' Social, uniting supporters, volunteers and friends of the charity for an afternoon of storytelling, discovery, creativity and community as we celebrated the Summer Solstice.
The event was created as an opportunity to thank our members for their ongoing support and to give them the chance to spend time together in the woodland they help nurture and protect.

EXPLORE THE WILD: WILDFLOWERS
|
|
|
The second explore the wild session went amazingly!
We had a lovely wildflower walk, did some ID and collated what we each found most interesting. Post tea, coffee and biscuit break, we sat down and learnt about how to press and document wildflowers, and carried a little detective work on some pre-pressed flowers provided by our intern Kanchi.
The day resulted in a lovely collection of wildflowers to document this years wildflower season in the wood.

We Need Your Help – Volunteers Wanted
Volunteers are the heart of Andover Trees United. Every tree planted, wildflower meadow created, school session delivered, and community event supported happens because local people give their time and energy to help.
As our projects continue to grow, we urgently need more volunteers. To be completely honest, we cannot continue to offer all the activities, events and community programmes we currently deliver without additional support. Whether you can spare an hour, a morning, or help regularly, every contribution makes a real difference.
No previous experience is needed for any role – just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to get involved. We are a friendly and welcoming team, and new volunteers are always supported.
