Our Schools

Andover Trees United works with most local schools (all are invited though not all wish to take part) to develop Environmental and Sustainability Education (ESD), offering training in conservation as well as funded and professionally-led, practical activities from tree planting and wildflower propagation to archaeology, storytelling and music.

These partner schools helped to plant the Harmony Woods section of The Diamond Wood and continue to take up the offer of an annual, fully-funded tree planting day in November, currently at Bury Hill Meadows. Thanks to the ongoing efforts of their community, they also have access to the wood, planted by children from their schools, and its facilities for study and wellbeing purposes.

 

Five schools worked closely with Andover Trees United 2017 - 2022 to develop outdoor learning and curricular/teaching content through the Six Trees and Six Flowers project:
