Andover Trees United Invites Community to Discover “What’s Living in Our Wood”
6th March, Andover, Hampshire - Andover Trees United (ATU) is inviting the local community to a special evening celebrating the wildlife and biodiversity of Diamond Wood at its annual Nature in Harmony: What’s Living in Our Wood presentation.
Taking place at The Guildhall, Andover on Friday 20 March, the event will share the latest discoveries from ATU’s ongoing Nature in Harmony project - a wildlife monitoring and community engagement programme based in Harmony Woods and the wider Diamond Wood.
Established in 2020, the project is led each year by an Ecology Intern and supported by volunteers and citizen scientists. Together they monitor the woodland’s biodiversity, recording species such as birds, butterflies, wildflowers and pollinators while helping guide conservation efforts across the site.
The annual presentation offers a unique opportunity for the public to learn more about the wildlife that has been recorded in the wood over the past year, hear directly from the team behind the surveys, and explore how the woodland is evolving as a thriving habitat for nature.
The evening will also highlight how the woodland is carefully managed to support biodiversity from the creation of wildflower meadows and wildlife habitats to ongoing monitoring of priority species.
Visitors will have the chance to explore displays, meet members of the Andover Trees team, and learn how they can get involved in future citizen science events and volunteering activities.
