Andover Trees Invites Community to March Conservation Day

Andover, Hampshire: 20th February, 2026 - Andover Trees is inviting residents of all ages to take part in its upcoming March Community Conservation Day on Saturday 14th March, as part of its monthly programme of hands-on volunteering nature events.

Held on the second Saturday of every month, these community days give local people the opportunity to play an active role in caring for Andover’s growing woodland.

The March session will focus on seasonal woodland management and orchard care, helping young trees establish strong roots as the growing season approaches. Activities may include mulching, clearing around tree bases, light maintenance work and general conservation tasks, all guided by the Andover Trees team.

Alongside its regular Monday morning volunteer sessions, the Saturday events are designed to make conservation work accessible to those who may be working or studying during the week.

Abbey Sadler, Community Engagement Officer for Andover Trees said: “Our monthly conservation days are about more than practical woodland management, they’re about bringing people together. Every hour volunteered helps protect and nurture this space for future generations. It’s a chance to connect with nature, meet others in the community and see first-hand the difference collective action can make.”

The woodland, created to enhance biodiversity, improve wellbeing and provide long-term environmental benefit for the town, relies on continued community involvement to thrive. Volunteers do not need prior experience, just enthusiasm and suitable outdoor clothing. Tasks are suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities, making it an ideal activity for families, individuals and groups.

Each session also provides time to pause, reflect and connect, with volunteers enjoying a well-earned tea break together. As spring approaches, Andover Trees hopes to welcome both familiar faces and new volunteers ready to support the long-term vision for the site.
