GARDENERS & GROWERS
Would you get involved with our friendly volunteer group to help care for young trees & bring wildflowers back to the Andover area?
As part of ATU’s The Disappearing Wildflower Project our Gardeners & Growers propagate and care for wildflowers at the Vigo Road Allotment and support community planting projects across Andover. They can also support children and teachers with their tree nursery beds.
Disappearing Wildflowers is a key project and our volunteers play an important role in growing, planting, watering, and caring for native wildflowers, helping create habitats that support pollinators and local biodiversity. From propagation and seed sowing to maintaining community wildflower spaces and supporting school projects, there are plenty of opportunities to get hands-on, learn new skills, and make a visible difference for nature.
School Tree Nurseries play a key role in our annual children’s tree planting campaign. Many were abandoned over the pandemic and we are very keen to reinstate them.
You’ll meet new people, make friends, and contribute to your community—all while helping restore wildflowers and create greener, more tree-filled spaces for wildlife and people to enjoy.
