Invitation: Nature in Harmony: Sharing What’s Living in Our Wood
Every year, Andover Trees United gathers the community together to share something special — an insight into the life of the woodland we have all helped to create.
Our annual Nature in Harmony: What’s Living in Our Wood presentation brings together the biodiversity observations from The Diamond Wood, offering a snapshot of the wildlife, habitats and seasonal changes that have taken place over the past year.
This year’s event will take place at The Guildhall Andover on Friday 20th March, where we will present the latest findings and celebrate the continued growth of the woodland.
A Woodland Growing in Nature and Community
The Diamond Wood was planted with a simple but powerful ambition to create a place where nature could flourish and where young people could connect with the environment around them. Since then, the woodland has grown into something truly special. Thousands of trees now provide habitat for birds, insects, mammals and plant life. Schools visit to learn outdoors. Volunteers help care for the woodland week after week. Families come to explore, walk and reconnect with nature. The annual Nature in Harmony evening brings all of these stories together.
Our biodiversity report captures what has been carefully observed across the site from pollinator activity and bird sightings to plant growth and seasonal patterns that show how the woodland continues to mature.
A Chance to Reflect and Celebrate
This evening is not only about sharing data and observations. It is also about recognising the incredible contribution of the people who help make the woodland what it is today.
Volunteers, supporters, schools and local organisations have all played a role in shaping the woodland’s development. The event offers an opportunity to reflect on what has been achieved together and to look ahead to the next chapter of the project.
More than a presentation of findings, this evening reflects ATU’s founding mission: to give young people a voice in protecting local biodiversity, creating meaningful experiences in nature today while safeguarding the woodland for future generations.
