Young Explorers Discover Wildflower Magic at Harmony Woods
Harmony Woods was buzzing with excitement yesterday as young adventurers gathered for the Summer 2025 Nature Explorers Session, held on Tuesday 19th August in the heart of Diamond Wood.
The morning began with an enchanting storytelling session led by Amanda from Merry-go-Round Storytelling, joined by Hebe. Children were captivated by the tales of the wildflower fairies, sparking curiosity and wonder about the native blooms growing all around them. Inspired by the stories, the explorers then got hands-on with nature, crafting their very own wildflower fairies from natural materials gathered in the woods.
After a well-earned snack, the fun continued with parachuting activities and lively team games, filling the woodland with laughter before the children headed home, tired but full of joy.
The event was made possible thanks to the dedication of volunteers and supporters working behind the scenes to connect Andover’s children with the outdoors. “We couldn’t give local young people these magical opportunities without the incredible help of our volunteers and community,” organisers said.
The Nature Explorers sessions are part of an ongoing programme to inspire children to enjoy and protect the natural world, while celebrating the beauty of Harmony Woods.
