Andover Trees United Celebrates Record-Breaking Success of 2025 Auction of Promises
Andover, Hampshire – 29th May 2025 – Andover Trees United is thrilled to announce the outstanding success of this year’s much-anticipated Auction of Promises, which took place on 23rd May 2025, bringing together friends, supporters, and community champions in a vibrant evening of generosity, laughter, and meaningful giving. The event raised an exceptional £4,700, setting a new fundraising record for this annual initiative.
The atmosphere was electric as guests gathered at Wherwell Village Hall to bid on over 60 unique and heartfelt promises and items donated by local residents, businesses, and supporters of the charity. From private sailing experiences, custom artwork, gardening services, and weekend getaways, to hands-on workshops, bespoke hampers, and even a promise to bake a cake – the range and creativity of the donations made for a dynamic and exciting auction.
A huge thank you goes out to Sid Dajani, our charismatic and entertaining auctioneer, whose energy and wit kept the bids rolling and spirits high throughout the evening. Thanks to his expertise, many items exceeded their estimated value, adding greatly to the success of the evening.
Guests also enjoyed a delicious supper courtesy of Bread and Butter Catering, whose thoughtful and locally inspired menu received glowing praise from attendees. The evening was beautifully enhanced by live music from Matty Twigg, whose performance provided a warm and uplifting soundtrack to a truly memorable night.
We are deeply grateful to every individual and business that contributed a 'promise' or item to the auction. Your generosity made this event possible. Special thanks also go to our valued sponsors:
Abel & Cole, for their fresh organic produce donations
Hildon Water, for keeping guests refreshed throughout the evening
Queensland Bakery Co., for providing a delicious array of baked goods and treats
Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of volunteers and staff worked tirelessly to bring the event together. We would like to shine a spotlight on Elizabeth Scrace, who has gone above and beyond over the past week, ensuring that every detail was managed and every pound accounted for. Her hard work paid off with the fantastic total of £4,700 raised.
These funds will have a direct and lasting impact. They will help to:
Sustain and expand our children’s and young people’s nature activities in Harmony Woods and Diamond Wood, providing essential opportunities for outdoor learning and connection with nature.
Support the training and employment of youth activity leaders and educators, empowering the next generation to lead environmental action.
Purchase tools, materials, and resources for workshops, habitat restoration projects, and biodiversity initiatives within the woodland.
As a volunteer-led organisation, we rely on the power of community, and the Auction of Promises is a shining example of what we can achieve together. We hope all who attended left not just with their winning bids, but with full hearts and a deeper connection to our mission of environmental stewardship and education.
From all of us at Andover Trees United, thank you for your belief in our work and your incredible support. You’ve helped us grow more than trees – you’ve helped grow a movement.
