Next generation joins Andover Trees United Trustee team at 2026 AGM

Andover Trees United welcomed members, councillors and supporters to its 2026 Annual General Meeting on Saturday 12 September, with the cabin at Harmony Woods packed for the occasion.

Founder Wendy Davis looked back on another successful year, sharing highlights from across the charity’s work with schools, young people, volunteers and the wider Andover community. Treasurer and Trustee Elizabeth Scrace presented the annual financial report, declaring the charity to be in a favourable position as it entered its new accounting year.

A standout moment was the appointment of two new Trustees, Amy Ingram and Matt Thomas. Both have grown through Andover Trees United’s school planting programme and youth engagement initiatives, making their appointment a powerful example of the charity’s long-term impact.

Matt has fond memories of planting his first tree at Harmony Woods as a schoolboy. An active youth team member for many years, he now continues his volunteer work by helping shape the organisation’s future as a member of its Trustee team.

Amy is also already an active member of Andover Trees United, contributing to annual fundraising efforts. She leads popular craft workshops and continues to support activities that help children and young people engage with nature.

“Our ambition has always been about more than planting trees. We want to help young people develop the confidence, knowledge and passion to become environmental stewards and future leaders.”

The appointments bring valuable lived experience and a younger perspective to the Trustee team, helping ensure that young people continue to have a meaningful voice in the charity’s future.
