Halloween magic comes to Harmony Woods this half-term
Broomsticks, pumpkins, storytelling and woodland adventures are coming to Harmony Woods this October as Tall Tales & Seasonal Stories returns with two special half-term events.
Families can join Amanda Kane-Smith of Merry-Go-Round Storytelling for two mornings of interactive storytelling, creativity and Halloween fun, all set against the autumn backdrop of Harmony Woods.
Room on the Broom
The first event, Tall Tales & Seasonal Stories: Room on the Broom, takes place on Tuesday 27 October 2026 from 10:30 am–11:30 am at The Cabin, Harmony Woods.
Amanda will bring Room on the Broom to life through an interactive storytelling session for children and their grown-ups.
After the story, children can head into the woods and get hands-on making their own mini broomsticks, and perhaps even a wand, using hazel twigs and branches gathered from the woodland.
It is a lovely way to combine imagination, creativity and time spent outdoors during half-term.
Awesome Autumn
The Halloween fun continues on Friday 30 October 2026 from 10:30 am–12:30 pm with Tall Tales & Seasonal Stories: Awesome Autumn.
Designed for children and their grown-ups, the morning will celebrate the changing season with more interactive storytelling from Amanda, alongside pumpkin carving, games, refreshments and plenty of Halloween fun.
Each child ticket includes a pumpkin, giving families the chance to get creative together and take home something suitably spooky.
Expect autumn leaves, muddy boots, pumpkins, stories and plenty of imagination.
Two ways to enjoy the woods this half-term
Tall Tales & Seasonal Stories is about more than simply listening to a story.
It gives children the chance to experience the woods differently, turning natural materials into something creative, exploring the seasons and building memories outdoors with family.
That combination of storytelling, play and nature is what makes the sessions such a special part of Andover Trees United’s family programme.
