Young Nature Explorers Embark on Gruffalo Trail Adventure at Harmony Woods

A group of enthusiastic young Nature Explorers took to the trails for a magical Gruffalo-themed adventure in the heart of Harmony Woods. The special outdoor session, filled with creativity, exploration, and leadership, marked another exciting event hosted by Andover Trees United (ATU).

The Gruffalo Trail gave children the opportunity to connect with nature in a playful and imaginative way. Along the trail, participants collected natural materials to craft their very own Gruffalo crowns, turning the woodlands into a scene from the beloved children’s book. The morning also featured woodland games and plenty of time for the children to explore, play, and learn about the natural world around them.

In a particularly proud moment for the organisation, today’s session was planned and delivered entirely by youth leaders Matt, Natalia, and Hebe — a first for the trio. Matt and Natalia, both former members of ATU’s Youth Team, have recently stepped into formal leadership roles, while Hebe contributed her energy and creativity to help make the session a success.

“This morning wasn’t just about outdoor fun; it was about empowering young leaders to step up and shape meaningful experiences for others,” said a representative from ATU. “We’re incredibly proud of Matt, Natalia, and Hebe for leading today’s event with such confidence and enthusiasm.”

ATU encourages youth-led initiatives as part of its broader mission to inspire young people to take ownership of their learning and development through community engagement and outdoor education.

Families are encouraged to look out for the next Nature Explorers session later this week, with more exciting activities planned throughout the summer.
