Andover Trees United Celebrates Community Support as Co-op Members Raise £1,793.72 for Local Woodland and Wildflower Projects
Local charity Andover Trees United has received £1,793.72 thanks to the support of Co-op Members in the Andover area, through the Co-op Local Community Fund. This is a significant increase from last year and reflects growing local support for the charity’s work connecting people with nature.
The donation will directly support conservation and community activity in Harmony Woods, including the expansion of the charity’s wildflower meadow project, school outdoor learning sessions, and hands-on volunteer days that bring local people together.
Wendy Davis, Founder of Andover Trees United, said:“This support from Co-op Members means more than we can say. Harmony Woods is a community woodland. Grown by children, cared for by volunteers, and shared by all of us. Contributions like this help us continue to nurture the woodland and expand our wildflower meadows, while giving young people the chance to learn, explore and feel part of something bigger. Thank you to everyone who chose us. You are helping our community, our wildlife and our future thrive together.”
Andover Trees United is a volunteer-led charity that works with schools, local authorities, businesses, environmental specialists and community groups to promote conservation, improve biodiversity and inspire understanding of the climate and nature crises, while providing meaningful ways for people of all ages to get involved.
From planting the first saplings of Harmony Woods in 2011 to the ongoing development of wildflower meadows and outdoor learning, the charity has created a place that continues to grow with the community. Harmony Woods is unique: every school in Andover has planted part of the woodland, making it a living, growing symbol of hope, belonging and shared responsibility for the next generation.
Andover Trees United is encouraging Co-op shoppers to continue supporting them by selecting the group as their chosen cause in the Co-op app.
