Nature’s Remedy: Andover Trees United Joins Winter Wellbeing Fair to Boost Community Health on 6th November
Andover, Hampshire - Andover Trees United (ATU), the local environmental charity behind Harmony Woods, will be joining this year’s Winter Wellbeing Fair on Thursday 6th November (10am–1pm) inside the Chantry Centre, Andover.
As part of the event, organised by Think Andover to help residents connect with local wellbeing initiatives, ATU will showcase how spending time in nature supports both mental and physical health, and how simple outdoor actions can make a big difference.
Visitors will also be able to take home a little piece of Andover’s nature by purchasing locally grown wildflowers, cultivated this year by ATU volunteers and local schoolchildren at the charity’s allotment. These chalk-loving wildflowers, including oxeye daisy, field scabious and kidney vetch are perfect for bees, butterflies and anyone looking to add a splash of colour to their gardens while supporting local biodiversity.
“Nature is one of the most powerful tools we have for improving wellbeing,” said Abbey Sadler, Community & Engagement Officer of Andover Trees United. “Every wildflower we plant helps bees and butterflies and it also helps us. Getting hands-on with nature lifts our mood, connects us to others and reminds us that small acts of care really matter.”
The ATU stand will feature information about volunteering opportunities in Harmony Woods and across Andover, School and community projects, including the Wildflower Campaign 2026 and simple ways in which visitors can get involved. From joining planting sessions to becoming a ‘Wildflower Friend’, this is the perfect way to learn how you can become more involved with your community.
The event is open to all, and ATU is encouraging local residents, families, and businesses to stop by, say hello, and learn more about how caring for nature can also mean caring for yourself.
Event details - Thursday 6th November, 10am–1pm at The Chantry Centre, Andover Town Centre. Entry is free!
