Tree Ents Nature Club - December's Session

WHO LIVES IN A WOOD LIKE THIS?

Woodland Wildlife Detectives

Saturday 12th December 2026
10:00am–12:30pm
The Diamond Wood, Andover

For ages 12–15 years
Keen and enthusiastic 11-year-olds may also be accepted.

The woods might look quiet... but are they really? Join Tree Ents & Skylarks Youth Club as we become Wildlife Detectives and search for the creatures that call the woodland home!

What will we do?

After our woodland safety check, we'll head out on a wildlife adventure looking for clues.

We could discover:

🐾 Animal tracks
🪶 Feathers
🐛 Insects
🕸️ Spiders
🌿 Signs of animals feeding or hiding

Using magnifying glasses, field guides and our detective skills, we'll investigate who might be living all around us.

Old School vs Modern Tech!

How do ecologists identify wildlife?

We'll put different identification methods to the test, including traditional field guides and modern technology.

We'll discover the strengths and weaknesses of each and find out why real ecologists often use a mixture of both!

How Will the Wood Change?

We'll finish by thinking about the future.

How has the woodland changed already?

How might it change in the future?

And what could happen to the wildlife living here?

We'll share our ideas and start thinking about how people can help manage woodlands for wildlife — ready for our next Tree Ents adventures!

Come and explore, discover and help build the Youth Club from the very beginning!
