Volunteer Benefits

Become a Guardian of the Diamond Wood

By volunteering with Andover Trees United on three or more occasions in one year, you will earn Guardian Membership for that year as a thank you for the time, care and enthusiasm you've given to our charity.

Your commitment will help us restore to habitats, protect wildlife, inspire young people, and create a greener future for our community. Every hour you give will make a real difference. We're incredibly grateful that you are considering becoming part of the Andover Trees United family.

What is a Guardian of the Diamond Wood?

Guardianship is awarded to those who give their time to Andover Trees United and volunteer in any capacity for 10 hours within a year – roughly the equivalent of 3 practical conservation sessions.

It recognises your contribution to the work of the charity and caring for the Diamond Wood, your dedication to protecting nature and your support for sustainability and community action.

A Guardian receives:

  • An ATU Volunteer Certificate recognising your contribution

  • Recognition as an official member of Andover Trees United with AGM voting rights

  • The opportunity to work towards King's Award for Voluntary Service accreditation (min. 20 hours)

  • Access to exclusive Nature Guides and member newsletters

  • 10% discount on shop purchases and on ATU workshops; Explore the Wild events are FREE

  • Exclusive Members-only social event

Making a Difference

Knowing you have made a difference also brings its own rewards. Some of the impacts our work makes are easy to see, but beyond what we can see and measure are the affects that we don’t know of and rarely glimpse - but they are there.

Recently received in an email: “My name is Corey, and I'm currently running an environmental science summer camp… geared toward teens with an interest in ecology and the natural world. I wanted to say a big thank you! The information on the Andover Trees United page led them to all kinds of great information!”

Our page now has a new item, sent to us by Hannah, a talented student at Corey’s summer camp.
