Update to volunteers regarding Covid-19

In order to adhere to the government’s guidelines regarding the coronavirus pandemic, we would like to make you aware that:

  • Volunteer workdays will no longer go ahead until further notice - this is in order to prevent social grouping.

    • However, those of you that may walk through Harmony Woods as your daily exercise are welcome to carry out an individual task if you wish to. If you are interested in this idea, please contact us for more information.

    • We also ask those of you who will be walking through Harmony Woods in the coming weeks to please help us in monitoring the site’s condition. As we’re not on-site as often as we’d like to be, we cannot keep an eye on the state of the wildlife, the cabin and container, the fences, the gates, any vandalism, if there are lots of dogs off leads in the important skylark habitat, etc. If you notice anything untoward on site, we would really appreciate it if you could let us know. Thank you.

  • Our Monthly green craft sessions have also been cancelled until further notice (this month was scheduled for the 28th & will not go ahead) but we will be contacting those of you that trained with us last year, to have a go in your own homes and make things for a fundraising crafts fair at the end of the year.

  • Our Schools project work has been put on hold, but there will be additional resources online for those of you that would like to do some activities at home or on your walks.

  • We are still working behind the scenes on strategic planning, writing funding bids, project prep and all sorts of admin tasks. We can still be reached via our website and online via our social media pages.

We hope you all stay safe during these uncertain times and we look forward to seeing you all again soon. x
