October Community Conservation Day

October Community Conservation Day

This October, we’re bringing the community together to rewild the wood and help restore our precious chalk grassland as part of our Disappearing Wildflowers project.

We’ll be planting wildflowers that have been grown by our school communities and local people at our allotment and at home, giving these plants a new home in the wood and helping to create a richer, more biodiverse habitat for wildlife.

Come along and get stuck in with practical wildflower planting, learn more about our disappearing wildflowers and discover how the plants we grow can make a real difference to local biodiversity. There’ll be plenty of opportunities for conversation, questions and, of course, a well-earned hot drink!

Our Community Conservation Days take place on the 2nd Saturday of each month, bringing familiar and new faces together to care for the wood and learn more about the natural world around us. See our Digging It blog for recent activities.

No experience is necessary – whether you’re a keen gardener, curious about conservation, or simply want to spend a morning outdoors making a difference, you’ll be very welcome and fully supported.

Please sign up here to confirm your place.

Any questions? Please email Abbey: abbey.sadler@andovertrees.org.uk

Volunteering with us is a great way to take practical action for biodiversity and climate resilience, while making a difference in your local community. Our 44-acre site includes native deciduous woodland, chalk grassland, wildflower meadow, hazel thickets, hedgerows and a pond – all providing vital habitats and resources for a wide range of species.

Come and help us put the wildflowers back where they belong!

BIOBLITZ, TALKS, THANK-YOUS & PRESENTATIONS WITH AGM 2026 - followed by lunch

Saturday 12 September 2026

You’re warmly invited to join us for Andover Trees United’s annual Walks, Bioblitz, AGM & Lunch — a chance to get together, explore the Diamond Wood, celebrate everything we have achieved over the past year, and say a very big THANK YOU to everyone who has helped make it happen.

Your support really does make a difference.

Once a year, we come together to share our achievements, celebrate our volunteers and members, hear about what’s planned for the year ahead, and give everyone the opportunity to share their ideas for the future of the charity.

Bioblitz, TALKS & Thanks | 10:00am–12:00pm

9:45am – Arrive

Please arrive in time for a 10:00am start.

10:00am – Bioblitz led by Ecology Intern

Join our intern for a guided Bioblitz in the wood, discovering more about the habitats and wildlife of the Diamond Wood. The Bioblitz encourages you to keep your eyes peeled for plants, insects, birds and other wildlife as we explore! This is also a taster session for young people interested in the NEW!! NATURE CLUB starting in October.

IF JUST JOINING THE BIOBLITZ and taster session for the Nature Club, BOOK YOUR PLACE HERE.

10:45am – Tea, Coffee & Refreshments

We’ll return to The Cabin for a cuppa, refreshments and a chance to catch up with fellow ATU members, volunteers and supporters.

11:05am – Annual General Meeting

Our formal AGM will begin, including an update on the charity’s work and achievements over the past year.

If you have volunteered with ATU during the past year, you have voting rights at the AGM, and we encourage everyone to contribute their thoughts, ideas and suggestions about the charity and its future.

11:35am – Presentations, Thank-Yous & Short Talks

Hear from a range of people involved with ATU and discover more about the breadth of our work, our achievements and our plans for the future.

We’ll also be celebrating our volunteers, including King’s Award for Voluntary Service presentations, before welcoming new friends to the ATU community.

Lunch | 12:15–1:00pm

After the AGM, there will be time to look around our displays, chat with the team, ask questions and enjoy a light lunch together.

Please let us know in advance if you would like to stay for lunch and tell us about any allergies or dietary requirements, so we can prepare enough food for everyone.

RSVP

Please let us know whether you’re coming — and whether you’d like to stay for lunch.

Sign up here to confirm your place

If you can’t make it, please let us know that too. All apologies are acknowledged and help us demonstrate the strength of support for Andover Trees United within our local community.

If you have any questions, please contact Abbey at abbey.sadler@andovertrees.org.uk.

Getting There & Parking

Parking is available at the Sports Ground or Enham. If you choose to walk up Anton Lane, please avoid parking around The Green, out of respect for local residents.

COME AND CELEBRATE WITH US

Whether you’ve volunteered every week, supported us occasionally, joined a project, attended an event, or simply cheered us on from the sidelines, we’d love to see you.

Come and enjoy the woods, meet fellow ATU supporters, celebrate what we’ve achieved together, hear what’s next — and help us shape the future.

Thank you for everything you’ve done to support Andover Trees United.

Let’s continue making a difference together.
