The Sounds of the Trees Workshops, a part of the Voices In Harmony Project.

Come along to discover tree song, tune in (literally) to the natural biorhythms of the trees with sound artist Justin Wiggan and discover Harmony Woods like you’ve never seen (or heard) it before. This event is part of the Voices in Harmony project

Voices in Harmony has been conceived by Andover Trees United in conjunction with musician Paul Sartin and sound artist Justin Wiggan.

The project will lead children and adults on a musical journey in celebration of woodlands. Collected stories and memories together with re-workings of traditional songs will be combined into a new composition and ‘Tree Shanty’ which will be performed alongside traditional folk song in Harmony Woods.

The composition will be accompanied by a soundscape created from plant bio-rhythms recorded from the trees at Harmony Woods and interpretated into sound by sound artist, Justin Wiggan.

The project is open to everyone and would particularly suit those looking for a calm, therapeutic experience. Our first community workshop with Justin is next Tuesday 8th March when you can share memories, meet the artist and listen to tree song.

Places are limited so get in touch now to register your interest! Our next community workshop exploring the sounds of the trees with Justin will take place on Monday 25th April.

The project will culminate with a live performance in the summer and form part of our 10th year celebrations.

All are invited to join our community choir and perform in Harmony Woods. If you’d like to perform (all ages and abilities welcome), under the guidance of acclaimed folk musician Paul Sartin, please book yourself into one of our upcoming Voices in Harmony choral workshops, rehearsals and the performance itself (on July 16th).
